There’s something undeniably magical about a March wedding - the whisper of spring in the air, the promise of something new. For Zoe and Tom, their celebration at The Hackney was more than a wedding; it was a beautifully curated gathering of hearts and heritage, seamlessly blending understated elegance with the vibrancy of East London life.
The Ceremony
Zoe and Tom began their day with a heartfelt legal ceremony at Hackney Town Hall - a grand yet local choice, just minutes from our venue, and one of our most loved recommendations featured in our 2025 ceremony location guide. Guests arrived at The Hackney aboard a classic red London Routemaster, its vintage elegance setting the tone for a day steeped in charm and nostalgia - a perfect example of arriving in style, as shared in our guide to wedding transport options. They were greeted with fizz and an invitation to step into a world transformed by candlelight, soft florals, and the subtle scent of jasmine.
A Reception to Remember
The couple opted for a 3-course plated menu, with starters of heritage tomato salad and stracciatella that delighted even the most discerning guests. For mains, a choice between slow-braised brisket with pomme mousseline or creamy truffle & wild mushroom risotto provided that perfect balance of hearty and refined. To finish? A nostalgic cherry pie with vanilla ice cream – an homage to comfort, with a touch of sophistication.
Wine flowed freely - Doppio Passo Primitivo and Casa de Vila Nova Vinho Verde - selected for their warmth and freshness, poured generously throughout the evening alongside classic cocktails like French 75s and Espresso Martinis.
The Styling
Zoe chose the Urbane Lily linen with contemporary orange runners, paired with cut glassware and gold charger plates - a quietly confident palette that brought vibrance without overshadowing the venue’s natural charm. Floral arrangements adorned the tables and fireplace with soft, garden-inspired blooms, while toffee apples and a pick-and-mix table added a playful twist for guests young and old.

Five incredible speeches brought tears, laughter, and a sense of deep connection. The candlelit dinner was followed by an effortless transition to dancing, with Nord & Frank curating a soundtrack that kept the floor buzzing well into the night.
